Artificial intelligence, machine learning, optimization, digital twins, physics-based models, statistical methods, and future computational technologies are tools. Engineering principles determine how those tools should be applied.
Our approach is guided by several fundamental principles:
- Engineering First: Engineering principles, process realities, operating objectives, and physical constraints define the problem and the permissible solution space.
- Trusted Information Before Trusted Decisions: Decisions should be based on information whose reliability, relevance, and limitations are understood.
- Explainable Reasoning: Recommendations and decisions should have an engineering basis that can be examined, understood, and reviewed.
- Authority Must Be Earned: Operational authority should expand only as performance, confidence, engineering constraints, and organizational requirements are demonstrated.
- Governance by Design: Human oversight, operating boundaries, escalation, fallback, override, and accountability should be integral to the system architecture.
- Knowledge Must Be Preserved: Site-specific engineering and operational expertise should become a reusable organizational asset rather than disappear through retirement, turnover, or organizational change.

Professor Jim Park | Founder & Chairman
McC AI Group is founded on Professor Park’s decades of experience in civil and environmental engineering, water and wastewater treatment, process control, and applied engineering research.
As Professor Emeritus of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, his career spans academic research, industrial collaboration, process development, and the solution of complex municipal and industrial treatment challenges.
He leads McC AI Group’s Engineering Intelligence research and application strategy, with particular emphasis on converting site-specific engineering knowledge, advanced algorithms, and operational experience into explainable and governed systems for critical infrastructure.
Dr. Ernie Lee | Chief of Staff
Dr. Lee leads corporate strategy, commercialization, and organizational execution.
His executive experience in the global water sector includes scaling water-purification product lines and managing international manufacturing and commercial development activities.
At McC AI Group, he focuses on translating engineering innovation into deployable technology, strategic partnerships, and pathways for commercial implementation.

Nam Su Kim | Chief Technology Officer & Technical Co-Founder
Nam Su Kim leads McC AI Group’s core software engineering and algorithm development and manages the company’s technical development hub in Korea. A Computer Science graduate of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), he brings substantial entrepreneurial and investment experience, including involvement with venture capital organizations in San Francisco, Seattle, and Austin.
He also leads an operation in Korea focused on advanced AI applications in dentistry, giving him direct experience in developing and commercializing AI-enabled technologies in a highly technical field.
At McC AI Group, Nam directs the dedicated engineering team responsible for translating advanced environmental engineering, optimization, and control logic into secure, scalable software and AI architectures for critical infrastructure.
Dr. Praewa “Peggy” Wongburi | Director of Global Operations
Dr. Wongburi leads global data operations and international project coordination.
Working through the company’s operational activities in Thailand, she supports data analysis, predictive-method evaluation, and cross-regional execution of Engineering Intelligence projects.
Her work focuses on identifying and validating analytical approaches appropriate to specific engineering and operational challenges.

Under the leadership of Dr. Firdaus Ali, the Indonesia Water Institute (IWI) collaborates with McC AI Group on Engineering Intelligence research and evaluation in Southeast Asia.
Current work includes Phase 1 digital-twin evaluations using operational data to examine predictive performance, engineering applicability, and pathways toward larger-scale municipal validation.
